Designing presentations for teaching and research needs

Computerized presentations, most commonly created with MS PowerPoint, are a basic tool for any successful lecture. Most academics, researchers, lecturers and students, design presentations for themselves, with no prior knowledge of design and no understanding of the correct structure of the slide, both conceptually and visually. This hands-on workshop introduces important design principles to create a successful presentation. It focuses on accepted academic needs and characteristics, based on the workshop facilitator's experience as a graphic designer and lecturer.

The workshop is intended for academics who make use of PowerPoint presentations and seek to enrich the visual content, for demonstration and interest purposes, but without compromising the written content or the lecture. Basic design principles will be presented with reference to the presentation, the organization of the slide, color and more.
